About Us

Formerly Calibre Legal, Austin Legal was founded in 2018 by Liz Austin, at the urging of a referral partner who saw the value she consistently provided to their mutual clients.

Originally from Boston, USA, Liz moved to Melbourne in 2008 and in 2011 began working across a variety of legal areas including  general corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, and entertainment. 

With a keen interest in human rights, Liz saw the opportunity to start Austin Legal as a way to assist corporate clients do good – whether that be in discovering a cure for cancer or in the telling of compelling stories. 

Austin Legal has particular expertise in guiding international clients through the complex legal requirements and  corporate considerations of doing business in Australia. 

Austin Legal takes pride in its accessible, team-based  approach to legal services, often working with a multidisciplinary team  – including corporate secretarial services providers, tax professionals transfer pricing specialists – to deliver holistic solutions.  Collectively, we ensure clients intending to do business in Australia do so at minimal risk, setting them up for success.
